Approximately 150,000 Holocaust survivors live in Israel today. Many struggle with poverty and lack of daily necessities. Your support can help ensure they live their remaining years with dignity
The first group receives monthly benefits ranging from 2,617 to 10,702 shekels, depending on their health and financial situation.
The second group receives an annual grant of only 6,987 shekels.
Of the second group, approximately 53,000 Holocaust survivors are not recognized under the Nazi Persecution Disabled Persons Law, since they immigrated to Israel after October 1953. As such, they are not entitled to monthly benefits.
This group falls between the ranks and does not receive the right to live with the dignity it deserves, just because of the year of immigration.
While the economic situation in the country is worsening, there is no state representative to take responsibility for Holocaust survivors living in poverty, and we have no choice but to act on their behalf before it is too late.
